Questionnaire

1. How is the form used?

This first question to ask your customer is "do all parts get torn out of the printer at one time or does one part remain in the printer as a receipt copy?" This question is important in determining the strength and/or easiness of the marginal perforations. Example: If you had a 4 part form that was used in an auto parts store and the store retained pt. 4 as the receipt copy, parts 1-3 would have short sheets on either the left or the right side and the marginal perf would probably be either 3 or 4 cuts/inch. A corner cut on parts 1-3 would help in the bursting process and it would give your customer a place to start tearing the form. Part 4 would have lineholes on both sides and the marginal perforations would be a standard 6 cuts/inch.

2. Does the form travel in sets, separate, or other?

If the forms are glued, when are they separated? Do you need a snap stub or is line glue acceptable? Which parts need to travel together? These questions are important in determining the type of gluing to be used - line, interrupt or spot glue; which parts get glued together; and where on the form is the glue line located - inside the marginal perforation, inside the line holes or outside the lineholes.

3. Are they experiencing problems with the current constructions?

If they're having problems, you need to find out exactly how they are using the forms; visiting is essential. Talk to the people who use the forms and find out which perforations are giving them problems. Feel free to call our sales service departments anytime with questions.
